		<description><![CDATA[Of course, we feel that building with straw and earth is the best!  Why?  Because it has hygroscopic abilities - it will wick water in and out of the walls vs. conventional building where any water leakage can get trapped and thus becomes a breeding ground for mold!  

These walls also are vapour permeable.  This allows miniscule molecules of water to pass through creating a healthier, moist environment.  It also helps to modulate the differences between interior or exterior temperatures much slower.  So in the winter it will hold the heat in much better and in the summer it will keep it cooler much longer!

Earth and straw are also raw material resources so they are the LOWEST embodied energy as well as they are easily biodegradable so they create no land fill waste. And - almost everywhere in the world you can access these resources within a 100 mile radius! It is often the closet, local, building material you can find.

So - why would you want to build with anything else.
