The Guelph Yoga Centre was designed as an initial home for three that could be converted into a yoga studio for a weekend retreat of one hundred people. This required moveable partitions and furniture. The client envisioned it as a circle or oval form using sacred geometry with landscape guidelines on where to focus views and entrances. The scheme was designed with future planning for additions that would house accommodations for 100, kitchen and dining areas for guests.
The exterior wall system was to be built with straw bale infill. The overall project included many sustainable features such as solar power, passive house principles, healthy non-toxic building materials. Due to unforeseeable circumstances with the client, the project was put on temporary hold.
